A new Anthem for
Australia!

America's Cup 1983
Rhode Is. U.S.A.

During her performances at the Sheraton Newport, Rhode Is., Di was invited to cheer on Australia 11 from the front deck of the Royal Perth Yacht Club.

As our Australian yacht crossed the winning line, the radio announcer said:

STAND  UP  AUSTRALIA
Lyrics & Music Dianna Hammond (1983)

  A  SOUVENIR  OF  AUSTRALIAN SONG
Di always kept a large part of her repertoire in Australian songs of Traditional Folk, Country and Popular music of such artists as The Seekers and           later John Williamson and other popular Aussie artists. It was this song list that enabled her to travel the world singing for Australia in
over 26 countries for a period of 10 years.
The album is backed by several different groups including a 36 piece orchestra, a country band and bush band. Di accompanies herself with
guitar on   "And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda".

                              Waltzing Matilda
Famous Australian story of a sheep thief who was camped out by a billbong (indigenous name for place of water), singing "who'll come a waltzing matilda with me!" Matlida was his swag or backpack!
